About Syracuse Hancock International Airport

Syracuse Hancock International AirportThe busy Syracuse Hancock International Airport in central New York State has a south terminal A and north terminal B with a total of 27 gates. Each airport terminal has it's own baggage claim at the lower level and gates at the upper level. US Airways and its affiliate carriers provide the most flights, while Air Canada service to Toronto is the only international service.

The Syracuse Hancock Airport has a barbershop, gift shops, and dining options including Sbarro and Au Bon Pain. The Discover Airport exhibit is adjacent to a gift shop and the Exhibit Cafe. Taxi and shared ride van service dispatch is available near both Hancock Airport baggage claim areas. About six miles north from downtown Syracuse, Hancock Airport began as an Army Air Corps bomber base in 1942, and opened as a commercial airport in 1949. In 1962 a new terminal was added to the growing Syracuse Hancock International Airport.
