Santaana Airport Ground Transportation

Santa Ana John Wayne Airport (SNA) is Orange County's only commercial airport. Thirty-five miles south of Los Angeles, this airport is near the California cities of Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, and Irvine.

If driving, the John Wayne Airport can be reached via I-405 (the San Diego Freeway), SR-55 (the Costa Mesa Freeway), or SR-73 (the Corona Del Mar Freeway/San Joaquin Hills Transportation Corridor Toll Road).

A plethora of ground transportation options exist at this airport, which include rental cars, taxis, courtesy and commercial shuttles, scheduled shuttles and buses, and even limousines. All ground transportation pick-up locations are in the Ground Transportation Center (GTC), near the baggage claim area. Located on the Arrival, or lower, level in the GTC between the A2 and B2 parking structures, this area can be reached from the Riley Terminal by crossing the airport roadway at the traffic light near the statue of--you guessed it--John Wayne. Please note that car rental pick-up and return is found on the ground level of the GTC.

Rental car companies are of two stripes: on-site, and off-site. On-site rental car companies are located on the Arrival level between Terminals A and B; you'll find them right across the statue of John Wayne. Return your rental car at the car return site located on the lower level of parking structures A2 and B2 (accessible via the GTC).

Off-site rental car companies are licensed to shuttle passengers from the terminal to their off-site locations.

Taxis and vans are also available in the GTC. Cabs can seat up to five passengers, and vans up to seven. Also look for shuttles available in this area, both courtesy and commercial (door-to-door). Airport coordinators can help you with arranging a ride.

The i shuttle and the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) bus stop is located on the Terminal side in the area south of the GTC. The i Shuttle, route A, enables transportation between John Wayne Airport and the Tustin Metrolink Station via Von Karman Avenue. OCTA buses that serve this airport include routes 76 and 212.

The Disneyland Resort Express is another bus service available at this airport.

The nearest train stations, each located about ten miles from the John Wayne Airport, are in Irvine, Santa Ana, and Tustin. Amtrak, Metro (for Los Angeles County), and Metrolink (which is the connection for Southern California) can be found in these locations. The Greyhound Bus Service has its nearest stop at the Santa Ana train station.

Surprisingly, over 500 limousine companies serve the John Wayne Airport. Arrange all limousine service in advance; search for "Limousines" in the "949" or "714" area codes. Ensure that the limousine company is licensed to pick up passengers at the John Wayne Airport.
