Phoenix Airport Ground Transportation

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) is located 3 miles east-southeast of downtown Phoenix, Arizona. It is a world-class facility, served by 18 domestic and international air carriers, and is the main air transportation hub for the entire state of Arizona. Sky Harbor Airport is divided into several terminals, all of which are connected by light rail, and affording easy transport to the central business district and outlying areas of the metropolis.

How To Get There
Interstate 10 provides the entrance to Sky Harbor Airport. From downtown, take 1st Ave South to West Jefferson Street and drive east to the I-10 southbound on ramp. From there, take exit 149 and follow signs to the airport. From the north or south, take I-10 north or south to exit 149. Sky Harbor Boulevard will take you directly to all of the main terminal facilities, which are clearly marked according to airlines.

Airport Parking Facilities
All of the arrival/departure terminals at Sky Harbor airport include a short term covered parking garage that charges hourly rates. At the east and west ends of the airport are economy parking (uncovered), and connected to the main terminals via free shuttle service. A large cell phone parking lot is located just east of Terminal 3 and Terminal 4, providing an area for drivers to wait until their party calls for curbside pickup at one of the terminal lower levels.

Taxis, Rental Cars, And Light Rail Service
Taxi service is available at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport at all of the main terminals. Taxis can be flagged on the north lower level curbsides at any of the terminals. Several limousine companies provide service from the airport to local destinations. Limos are found on the south curbs of Terminals 3 and 4, and on the north curb of Terminal 2. For those passengers departing the airport for hotels, most lodgings reservations include free shuttle service. These shuttle vans pick up passengers at curbside directly adjacent to all baggage claim areas in each terminal. The modern Rental Car Center is located west of the airport, across I-10, and is served by a common free shuttle service departing from terminal lower levels 24 hours a day. Light rail service connects all the terminals and provides swift transport to the nearby Metro Light Rail station for easy connections to downtown and other destinations. Throughout all the terminals at Sky Harbor Airport are located both hotel courtesy phones and rental car agency service counters.
