Los Angeles International Airport Information

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is one of the most popular airports in the world. It is the third busiest airport in the United States, offering more than 600 flights daily to 32 countries and 91 cities. While it offers some connecting flights, it is known to handle more origin and destination trips.

Ground transportation is also available. This free shuttle service is provided for travelers who need assistance making connecting flights between airline terminals. To use this service, passengers need to board the LAX Shuttle under the LAX Shuttle and Airline Connections blue sign. These signs are located on the arrival level of each terminal. LAX Shuttle service runs 24 hours a day, and it runs every 12 to 15 minutes.

There are plenty of parking options available. LAX has approximately 8,000 parking stalls located throughout 8 parking structures and over 4,500 parking stalls located in Parking Lot C. All parking lots offer free shuttle service to airline terminals. There is also a cell phone waiting lot that allow motorists to wait for arriving passengers for up to two hours. Please be aware, while using this parking option, drivers must stay with their vehicle at all times. Motorists just can't park their car and leave it. Also, if you're driving an electric vehicle, you can take advantage of free parking that's available at LAX. Parking structures one and six offer free parking at charging stations for up to 30 days per visit.

Free Internet service is available throughout the airport in most public areas. If you're looking for a faster connection, you can pay for it for an additional fee. An hourly rate is available, as well as 24 hour rate.

Plans for a newer and more modernized airport are underway. During this renovation, there will be improvements to the New Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) and runway. The TBIT will be the focus of the core improvements. The upgrade will include a new gate and concourse area, as well as a new in-line baggage screening system to improve service to the passengers who use this terminal.

LAX has made several appearances in feature films, video games, music videos, and television programs. The singer Miley Cirus is shown hopping off a plane at LAX on her single "Party in the U.S.A." The Space Shuttle Endeavour landed at LAX, and the movie "To Live and Die in L.A" is featured when Petersen completes a stunt scene with him running between the terminal's moving sidewalk.
