About London Luton Airport

London Luton AirportThe London Luton Airport is located in the Borough of Luton and is an international airport. This airport is one of the largest airports in London and serves over 10 million people every year. It is the fourth largest airport after three other airports in London, which are Gatwick, Stansted, and Heathrow.

This airport offers five different airlines passengers can choose to use. These airlines are Monarch Airlines, EasyJet, Thomson Airways, Wizz Air, and Ryanair. The majority of flights that take place at this airport are within Europe and are domestic. However, other popular locations for travel include South Africa and Asia.

This airport was first created in 1938, in order to serve as a base during World War II. During World War II, the army, and specifically the Royal Air Force fighters, used this airport. After the war, this airport began being used as a commercial operation and exploded in popularity. In the 1970s, the London Luton Airport became one of the most profitable airports throughout all of London and continues to gross a high profit every year.

Throughout the 1990s, the London Luton Airport went through dramatic transformations and was constantly being rebuilt. The international terminal opened up in 1985 and has been functioning ever since then. Another terminal was recently created in 1998 and was even endorsed by the Queen of England.
