Airlines Serving Hamburg Airport

Hamburg Airport, airport code HAM, serves about 50 airlines but does not provide hub operations for any. Air Berlin is the principle airline utilizing the airport with service to the most common domestic destination, Munich, and Zurich, the most common international destination. Air Berlin also serves places like Dusseldorf, Salzburg, and Stuttgart year around and ski destinations like Innsbruck and Luxor during the appropriate seasons. Air Berlin operations center on Terminal 1.

Condor Airlines is also another principle carrier at Hamburg Airport with operations centered at Terminal 2. This airline also offers regional service to Germany and Spain with seasonal flights to ski locations. Condor is part of the Thomas Cook group of airlines specializing in vacation and holiday destinations.

Lufthansa, the flag airline of Germany, operates from Terminal 2 at Hamburg Airport. This airline operates flights to international destinations in Europe from Hamburg as well as domestic flights to the major cities of Germany. Lufthansa Regional, operating under the name Eurowings, provides flights from Hamburg to European and regional German destinations using smaller aircraft.

A number of flag airlines fly limited schedules to Hamburg. These include Turkish Airlines with flights to Istanbul, Scandinavian Airlines with flights to Copenhagen, Norwegian Air Shuttle with service to Oslo, Iran Air with flights to Tehran and Emirates with flights to Dubai. Two airlines provide service to Russia. Rossiya offers flights to St. Petersburg and Aeroflot provides service to Moscow. Most of the international carriers with limited schedules operate from Terminal 1 at the Hamburg Airport.

China Eastern Airlines offers flights to Asia through Shanghai-Pudong Airport. This brings travelers to one of its hubs of operation allowing connecting flights to all destinations in Asia and Australia.

United Airlines operates direct flights to the United States from Hamburg through Newark Liberty International Airport. This flight brings passengers from Hamburg into the United Airlines system of eight American and two international hubs for connecting flights. United Airlines operates from Terminal 2 at Hamburg.
