Airlines Serving Geneva Airport

Geneva Cointrin International Airport (GVA) is well connected to Europe and the Middle East through the service of more than 40 airlines. All airline operations take place in the Main Terminal building, so passengers simply need to follow signs to specific levels where their flights take off. Many of the airlines offer seasonal service to Geneva. One important note about the airport is that passengers using airlines that provide service to France can use the French Sector and avoid the Swiss part of the airport.

Darwin Airline uses GVA Airport as a regional hub. The Swiss airline company offers flights to over 10 destinations from Geneva. Prague, Rome, Valencia, and Venice are some of the major cities served by Darwin Airline. Additionally, the Swiss regional airline provides seasonal flights to Ibiza (Spain) and Saint Tropez (France), which are both located in the Mediterranean region.

EasyJet grabs the title of being the busiest airline at Geneva Cointrin International Airport. The large British airline company links the border city of Geneva with U.K. destinations such as Bournemouth, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle upon Tyne, Belfast, and Glasgow. Additionally, Easyjet planes land at three of the five major airports in London; Gatwick, Luton, and Stansted. The EasyJet Swizterland branch offers extensive international service between Geneva Cointrin International Airport and destinations in Europe and the Middle East. Belgium, France, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Greece are on the list of Easyjet operations. Sharm el Sheikh and Tel Aviv are the major Middle Eastern destinations by this busy British carrier. EasyJet is also well known for reliable service to popular Mediterranean islands such as Corsica, Sardinia, Ibiza, Crete, and Mykonos.

Although Swiss International Airlines does not use Geneva Cointrin International Airport as a hub, the Swiss flag carrier still offers great service. Athens, Barcelona, London, Madrid, and Moscow are major international destinations offered by Swiss International Airlines. Providing direct service to New York City, Switzerland's flag carrier is one of the few airlines at Geneva to offer flights to the United States.

Edelweiss Air is another Swiss company that serves Geneva Cointrin International Airport. This small charter airline offers journeys to exotic Mediterranean locations such as Canary Islands, Cyprus, Balearic Islands, and Rhodes. Half of the Edelweriss Air flights operate only during peak vacation season.

Large European based airlines serving Geneva Cointrin International Airport include Alitalia, Air France, British Airways, Czech Airlines, KLM, Lufthansa, and Scandinavian Airlines. Air Canada and United Airlines offer limited non-stop service to North America.
