About Frankfurt Airport

Frankfurt AirportFrankfurt Airport is one of Europe's primary airports and serves more international destinations than any other airport worldwide. It's known in German as both Rhein-Main-Flughafen and Flughafen Frankfurt am Main, and its airport code is FRA.

Conveniently located in central Europe, Frankfurt Airport is less than a three hour flight from all major European cities and is easily accessible by both road and rail. It serves dozens of carriers, some of which include Aer Lingus, Air Canada, Continental Airlines, and Delta Airlines. Lufthansa is a major carrier and maintains its own terminal at Frankfurt Airport for the convenience of first class passengers.

The airport's main terminals are known simply as Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Terminal 1 opened in 1972 and retains the modern, brush metal design of that time. It is divided into Concourses A, B, and C. Terminal 2 opened in 1994 and is home to Concourses D and E.

Both terminals at Frankfurt Airport feature shower facilities for travelers. Towels, hair dryers, and toiletries are provided for a fee. Additionally, Terminal 1 has a post office and a DHL office. Other amenities at the airport include storage lockers, a dog hotel, a clinic and pharmacy, a bank and currency exchange, and wireless Internet service.
