Airlines Serving East Midlands Airport

As the local airport for the East Midlands in the UK, the East Midlands Airport serves the nearby towns of Derby, Leicester, and Nottingham. So, despite being the second-busiest cargo airport in the UK, East Midlands Airport still provides essential air travel access for local folk, be it for business or for pleasure.

Not only does East Midlands host certain airlines year round, but this airport also sees the operation of seasonal airlines during the peak time of summer travel.

The low fare airlines of Ryanair and Bmibaby utilize this airport as a hub for operations. This airport is also a significant base for Thomas Cook and Thomson Airways. East Midlands sees short haul flights for both European and domestic points, but does see some long hauls, particularly during peak season. BMI uses East Midlands as its maintenance base.
