Airlines Serving Denver International Airport

Located in northeastern Denver, Colorado, Denver International Airport (DEN) is the fifth busiest airport in the world and the largest airport in the U.S. by land area.

Currently seventeen airlines operate out of DEN: AeroMexico, Air Canada, Air Tran Airways, Alaska Airways, American Airlines, British Airways, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines, Great Lakes Aviation, Icelandair, JetBlue Airways, Lufthansa, Southwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines, US Airways, United Airlines, and Volaris.

Frontier Airlines uses DEN as a hub, as does Great Lakes Airline, which is a commuter airline. The airport also ranks as the fourth hub city for United. Although DEN is not a hub for Southwest, it is considered a Southwest "focus city," essentially a minor hub. Southwest has only been operating out of Denver for about six years and their presence at DEN continues to grow. Frontier, United, and Southwest all have flights from Denver to Los Angeles, which was the number one destination for DEN passengers in 2011-2012.

The airlines work out of three concourses. Concourse A is used by a number of airlines for both domestic and international flights, include British Airways' flights to London-Heathrow, Lufthansa's flights to Frankfurt and Air Canada's regular flights to Montreal and Toronto. London-Heathrow was the busiest international route from DEN in 2009-2010, with British Airways transporting over 350,000 passengers there. Great Lakes Aviation also uses Concourse A for their commuter flights to area cities such as Cheyenne, Dodge City, Great Bend, Huron, Pierre, Scottsbluff, and Williston.

Concourse B is primarily used by United and their United Express flights. Most of these are domestic flights, though United is adding service to Tokyo-Narita. They also offer seasonal flights to Mexico City and Calgary. Concourse B is also used by US Airways, which makes flights to Charlotte, Philadelphia, and Phoenix.

Concourse C is primarily used by Delta Airlines and their Delta Connection flights. Southwest also uses Concourse C.
