The Dallas Fort Worth International Airports offers a wide selection of airlines to choose from with flights all throughout the continental U.S. and abroad. The airport boasts over 20 different airlines including American Airlines, United, Delta, American Eagle, Virgin America, U.S. Airways, Spirit, Lufthansa, Frontier, KLM, Jet Blue, Alaskan Air, and Air Canada.

In 1981, American Airlines established a hub at the DFW Airport. Today American Airlines is the 4th largest airlines in the United States and the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is their largest hub. American Airlines and their partner company, American Eagle, operate 4 out of the 5 terminals at the DFW Airport. Together they account for 85% of the airport traffic. American Airlines offers flights to almost every major city in the United States along with large cities abroad such as Rio De Janeiro, London, Madrid, Paris, and Tokyo. American Eagle offers domestic flights to smaller cities in the United States mostly in Midwest and the South.

The five terminals in the DFW airport are Terminal A, Terminal B, Terminal C, Terminal D, and Terminal E. Terminal A, B and C are all American Airlines and American Eagle flights. Terminal D is the international terminal. Airlines such as Aero Mexico, Air Canada, Cayman Airways, British Airways, Emirates, KLM, Korean Air, Lufthansa, Qantas, Sun Country and Taca have flights out Terminal D. Terminal E is home to Alaska Airlines, Continental, Delta, Frontier, Jet Blue, Spirit, United, US Airways and Virgin America.

Although the DFW airport is a former Delta hub, presently Delta only offers flights out of DFW to their seven hubs, the most prominent being Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis / St. Paul and Salt Lake City. United also offers limited flights out of DFW to Chicago, Houston, Denver, San Francisco and Newark. Frontier only has flights to and from it hub, Denver. The top five domestic destinations from the DFW airport are Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Denver, and San Francisco. Each of these cities has outgoing flights from DFW through several airline carriers making them the most accessible. The top international destinations are Cancun, London, Mexico City, Tokyo, and Frankfurt.
