About Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky International Airport

Cincinnati International AirportThe Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport is located among the rolling green hills of Hebron, Kentucky and serves the Greater Cincinnati metropolitan area. Its airport code, CVG, is derived from nearby Covington, Kentucky.

The airport has been operational since 1947 and has undergone renovations and expansions since 1960. It now serves as a hub for Delta Airlines and serves a number of other airlines. CVG features three terminals, but Terminal 1 is reserved exclusively for administrative offices. Terminal 2 is a 1970s-era eight-gate construction used by Air Canada, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, United Airlines, and US Airways. It has limited amenities: a newsstand, a grill, a bagelry and bakery, a Travel Mart, and vending machines. Most passengers travel through Concourse B in Terminal 3, which is accessible via an underground train. Concourse B is an especially pleasant area to spend time between flights. It features high ceilings, large windows with airfield views, and natural daytime lighting.

Options for dining and shopping in Concourse B are plentiful. Some popular airport restaurants include Wolfgang Puck, Outback Steakhouse, McDonald's, and Max & Erma's. Coffee and snack options such as gourmet pretzels, cookies, and popcorn are also available. A Travel Mart convenience shop and top-notch retail stores such as Brooks Brothers, Creative Kidstuff, and Spirit of the Red Horse are ideal for picking up last-minute needs, souvenirs, and gifts.
