Airlines Serving Chicago O'Hare International Airport

Chicago O'Hare International Airport serves destinations all across the world through a wide variety of domestic and international airlines. Whether you are traveling to Oklahoma City, Germany, India, or Japan, O'Hare has daily departures and arrivals to fit most travelers' needs. The airport is clearly divided into four main terminals; three are domestic and one is international. The two largest airlines are United Airlines and American Airlines; both use the airport as a hub for domestic and international traffic, allowing passengers to connect to hundreds of destinations in the United States and around the world.

Terminal 1 is occupied by United Airlines and some of its Star Alliance partners that operate flights to Europe and Asia. United Airlines is now considered the largest air carrier in the world when it comes to number of destinations. They fly to cities around the world, including New York City, Los Angeles, London, Tokyo, Mexico City and Beijing. They also operate United Express flights out of Terminal 2 to small-market destinations throughout the Midwest. The recent merger with Continental has provided more destinations and frequencies. Terminal 2 is also home to various other domestic carriers that don't use O'Hare as a hub: Delta Airlines, Air Canada, US Airways, and Jet Blue.

American Airlines uses Terminal 3 as a hub for its domestic and international traffic. The terminal consists of four different concourses that each contain 10-30 gates. Concourse G is the main operation for American Eagle; they fly to short-range or small-market destinations like Detroit, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Ottawa, Tulsa or Buffalo. Concourse H and K are home to American's mainline operations that fly to big cities and destinations around the world; it is also used by various Oneworld Alliance carriers.

The majority of international traffic at O'Hare arrives and departs from Terminal 5, which is home to 21 gates on Concourse M. This terminal offers flights to Ireland, France, Great Britain, Scandinavia, Germany, India, China, and many other countries through more than 20 different airlines, including Aer Lingus, Air France, Alitalia, SAS, British Airways, and Korean Air. Airlines from Terminal 5 offer direct service to cities throughout South America, Europe, and Asia. Many of the airlines include luxury lounges for their preferred flyers.
