Airlines Serving Caracas International Airport

Caracas Maiquetia International Airport is located on Venezuela's north coast in the city of Maiquetia, about 15 miles (24 km) from downtown Caracas, and is the primary airline hub for the region. It is also known as Simón Bolívar International, named for the revolutionary war hero who led much of South America to independence in the early 1800s. Approximately 9 million passengers arrive at and depart from the airport each year.

Aserca Airlines is the major domestic carrier serving Caracas International Airport. Passengers can fly on Aserca to a number of cities in Venezuela including Barcelona, Maracaibo, Maturín, Puerto Ordaz, Santo Domingo (VE), and Valencia. Aserca also offers service the following international destinations: Aruba, Curaçao, Punta Cana, and Santo Domingo (DR). A large number of shuttle flights operate daily between Caracas and Valencia, which is the home base for the airline.

Aeropostal Alas de Venezuela is a domestic and international airline based in Caracas, and offers flights to Barquisimeto, Maracaibo, Maturín, Porlamar, Puerto Ordaz, and Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago).

Venezolana Airlines, headquartered in Maracaibo, operates flights from Caracas to the cities of Porlamar, Cumaná, El Vigía, Santa Bárbara, and Maturín, as well as daily shuttles to Maracaibo. Passengers can fly on Venezolana to the international destinations of Aruba, Panama City, Santo Doming, and there is seasonal service to Miami, Florida.

TAM Airlines is a Brazilian carrier that operates flights from Caracas International Airport to Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. Passenger make connections in either city to connect with destinations across Brazil.

Aerolineas Argentinas, based in Argentina, has regular service from Caracas to Buenos Aires. TACA Peru operates flights to and from the city of Lima.

Air Canada operates flights to Caracas International Airport from Toronto, Canada. Several U.S. carriers serve Caracas, including American Airlines, which operates flights to and from Dallas/Ft. Worth, Miami, and New York City. There is direct service from Caracas to Houston, Texas on Continental Airlines, and Delta operates flights between Caracas and Atlanta, Georgia.

Passengers can fly from Caracas International Airport to several European destinations. Air France has regular service to Paris, and Air Europa operates flights to and from Madrid. Service from Caracas to Frankfort is offered by Lufthansa Airlines.

Many of the airlines listed above have been operating to and from Caracas International Airport for many years, however daily shuttle flights from the airport to destinations within Venezuela have expanded in number over the past decade.
