Airlines Serving Atlantic City International Airport

The Atlantic City International Airport is a joint military and civilian facility owned and operated by the South Jersey Transportation Authority. Referred to as ACY in airline route maps, Atlantic City International airport is located in Egg Harbor Township, about 9 miles northwest of downtown Atlantic City.

ACY has two runways, and the small terminal building has 7 departure gates on the upper level. Presently, only 2 carriers serve Atlantic City. AirTran provides service from Atlanta. AirTran is in the process of merging with Southwest, which already serves nearby Philadelphia. Spirit Airlines, which has been serving Atlantic City since 2009 primarily from its Fort Lauderdale, Florida home base, plus Orlando, Tampa, and Boston. ACY was previously served by US Airways and Delta, but both withdrew during the recent economic downturn. Most area travelers depart from Philadelphia, which has a lot more service.
