Atlanta Airport Ground Transportation

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is located 10 miles south of Atlanta's downtown business district. It's address is 6000 North Terminal Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30320.

If you are driving to the airport from downtown Atlanta, merge onto I-75 South/I-85 South. Continue onto I-85 South and watch for signs to Atlanta Airport/Montgomery. Take Exit 72 for Camp Creek Parkway toward Atlanta airport. Take a slight left toward South Terminal Parkway and continue straight onto South Terminal Parkway. Take a slight right at Airport Boulevard, and take another slight right at North Terminal Parkway.

If you are traveling to the airport from Stone Mountain, merge onto I-285 South and continue along it. Take Exit 61 for I-85 North toward Atlanta. Follow the signs for Atlanta Airport and merge onto North Terminal Parkway. Take a slight right to stay on North Terminal Parkway.

When you arrive at the airport, you should have little trouble finding a place to park. Parking is plentiful with ten available lots. Keep in mind that courtesy shuttles operate in and out of the North Economy lot, as well as the South Economy lot.

City to airport shuttles offer transportation from almost anywhere in Atlanta to the ATL, for people who would rather not drive themselves. Most shared-ride airport shuttles provide hotel, convention center, business, and residential door-to-door service from anywhere within the greater metropolitan area.

Local Shared-Ride shuttles serve locations within the metro area, and run approximately 15 minutes apart. Their services are dependable, time-saving, and hassle-free. Regional Shared-Ride shuttles serve locations outside of the metro area, and run every 30 minutes to an hour apart. A few companies provide regional shuttle service including Airport Express, Peachtree Shuttle Service, and Shuttletran Airport Transportation Services.

It is highly recommended that you ask your shuttle provider for drop-off location information prior to making your reservation with them. You will want to time your arrival at the airport accordingly. Atlanta International Airport is very large and elaborate; thankfully they offer an Automated People Mover system to accommodate weary travelers.

Four vehicles comprise an APM train, which carries approximately 300 people along with their carry-on bags, strollers, wheelchairs, and sundry. APM trains are located underground in the airport's Transportation Mall, and move passengers easily between the airport's main terminal and six concourses. You can also make use of moving sidewalks which operate like flat conveyor belts that carry people and their luggage.
